![]() About a month and a half ago I sent in an application to study abroad next year through the State Department (http://www.yes-abroad.org/). After a long period of tense waiting, today I received an email that had me running through the house like a cork from a champagne bottle, waking up my parents to read them my email announcing that I, Karla, had made it to the Semi-Finalist level of the YES-Abroad program. It began: "Dear YES Abroad Applicant, The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad consortium is pleased to inform you that the Scholarship Review Committee has chosen you as a Semi-Finalist for the YES Abroad program for 2014 - 2015." So now I'm super excited for the IPSE (In Person Selection Event) which will be taking place in Chevy Chase in a matter of weeks. I can't wait to meet other people and learn more about this incredible opportunity. EEEP!!!!! Until next time: - Dream big - Work hard - Love lots And stay true to yourself
